Accepting and respecting each other’s differences are important to maintain a harmonious relationship among crew members of diverse nationalities, backgrounds, and cultural orientations. The fact that seafarers live and work together with the same persons for several months makes the ship vulnerable to interpersonal conflicts, such as harassment and bullying. This webinar focuses on the effects of harassment and bullying on board ships. It tackles different onboard situations of bullying and harassment and ways how to prevent or control it using the reflective learning method. It also discusses the policy implemented by companies incorporated within the SMS on how to handle harassment and bullying cases.
