Safety & Health (§ 16)

This course is in compliance with the ‘Order on occupational health training for members of the safety group in merchant ships’ issued by the Danish Maritime Authority.

It is a combination of self-paced learning and a 2-day facilitator-led session.

The course is carried out according to this process:

1) Complete all modules via an e-training platform
2) Complete all exercises during the 2-day facilitator-led session
3) Receive certification upon completion

Module 9 – Principles of Controlling Hazards and Risk Assessment
Module 10 – Incident Investigation

Registration

To participate in the course, one must:

1) Be an elected member of the safety organisation
2) Meet the requirements for signing on as a ship’s assistant (advanced level), or
3) Meet the requirements for service on a seagoing vessel for the issuance of a certificate as:

a) Mate 4th Class
b) Marine Engineer on Duty
c) Mechanist 2nd Class Subsection

Individuals who are part of a service crew may participate in the course in accordance with (1), no. 1, if the persons in question have completed the safety training in accordance with the Danish Maritime Authority’s ‘Order on special training and qualification standards for crew on passenger ships’ and have subsequently completed three months of service on board a seagoing vessel.

Upon registration for the course, you will be contacted by our Training Team and provided with the necessary information on how you can start the course.
