Utkilen chose a new approach where it was crew members and officers who determined which performance criteria should be in focus during the crew member’s contract. The mutual agreement of focusing on only between three and five criteria allows for a more in-depth discussion, support and evaluation of these criteria. It is expected that this activity of selecting focus points will also provide data on what points the officers and crew members find most relevant for performance discussions.
